Dr. Sheri Nawabi
A postgraduate of Georgetown University School of Dentistry in Washington,D.C., she regularly upgrades her clinical skills by attending continuing education courses covering all areas of cosmetic and general dentistry. She has attended seminars hosted by some of the most reputable speakers in the world.
Dr. Nawabi is a member of numerous professional organizations, including the American Dental Association and DC Dental Society and WIDS.

Dr. T. Matthew Jacks
Oral Surgeon
In private practice, oral surgeons are quick to promote their scope of care, but very few are willing to report their actual experience level. Dr Jacks is represented below:
Dental Implants: over 2,500

Orthognathic (surgical movement of jaws): over 350 cases

At the University of North Carolina, Dr Jacks trained at one of the best Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery programs in the United States focusing on reconstructive surgery of the face and jaws. Upon completion of residency, he was appointed attending surgeon to the US Navy’s flagship hospital in Bethesda, MD, during the height of the Iraq war. He surgically rehabilitated 34 soldiers, sailors, and marines from their initial IED blasts and facial combat injuries to final maxillofacial reconstruction, cosmetic, and dental implant-based prosthesis. Having built tremendous professional relationships with all dental specialties during this demanding time, Dr Jacks knows all too well the benefits of a multi-disciplinary team. As a result, he was awarded the US Navy’s Meritorious Service Medal.
Next, Dr Jacks accepted orders to the NATO base in Sicily, Italy, where he was the Director for Surgery at the US Naval Hospital. He served as the chief surgical liaison during the NATO strikes on Libya and provided multinational force support for deployed and stationed troops. As a result, he received his second Meritorious Service Medal.
Finally, Dr Jacks returned to Maryland and was appointed Department Chief of the military’s largest and premiere Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery training program at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. To date, Dr Jacks has trained 54 oral surgeons, and co-trained periodontists, prosthodontists, and general dentists (50 GPRs). Most importantly, he feels privileged to have spent two decades taking care of our nation’s wounded warriors, leaders and their families.
Currently Dr Jacks and his wife, Heather, live in Darnestown, MD. They have four children, three dogs, three chickens, and one cat. Dr Jacks’ hobby is whatever his wife tells him to do.

Dr. Daniel Honl
Oral Surgeon

Dr. Daniel Honl is originally from Wisconsin. He attended St. Olaf College in Northfield Minnesota where he graduated summa cum laude with a B.A. in Chemistry. He subsequently was awarded the Navy Health Professions Scholarship and attended Marquette University School of Dentistry. He graduated summa cum laude in 2009 and was awarded the AAOMS Oral Surgery Dental School Achievement Award.
After completing his first tour at Parris Island Marine Recruit Depot, he was selected for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, Bethesda, MD. He successfully completed the residency before transferring to Naval Station Great Lakes where he became the Program Director of the Navy’s only Advanced Clinical Program in Exodontia. His other achievements include instructing classes in Advanced Cardiac Life Support and IV Sedation, becoming Board Certified, and providing professional presentations to dental societies and residencies.
He is currently Department Head of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Naval Postgraduate Dental School (NPDS). He is responsible for training residents of every dental specialty and is Director of the NPDS Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Oral Board Review Course.
Dr. Honl is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.

Dr. Rasha H. Welch
Orthodontist
Dr. Welch accepted orders to the NATO base Okinawa, Japan. During those first three years of active duty, she volunteered to deploy multiple times to include both humanitarian missions and operational tours.
In 2011 she graduated the Tri-Service Orthodontic Residency Program; earning her specialty certificate to pursue her passion in orthodontics. Since then she has been committed to improving the oral health, esthetics, and confidence of all the patients entrusted under her care. She is an active member of the American Association of Orthodontics and has extensive experience with adult orthognathic (jaw surgery) cases.
Currently, Dr. Welch is a 17 year veteran and is serving a large military medical center as the Director for Dentistry and is a staff orthodontist; an integral mentor to the General Practice Residency (GPR) and OMS residency program as well as a member of Craniofacial Clinic. Dr. Welch is married to Joseph Welch and they have three children. Hobbies include chasing her kiddos, making Neapolitan pizza dough, and especially trying new foods!
